FAQs

How are the tutoring sessions conducted?

Our group tutoring classes are conducted in person every Saturday and Sunday for 10 weeks. They are comprised of small class sizes, where collaboration is fostered.

What is the new SAT?

The new SAT is given in a digital format where questions get progressively harder, and worth more points. This leaves traditional methods no longer applicable, and requires a more specific approach to the test.

What commitment is required?

Students will attend classes for 2 hours every weekend, and work collaboratively with their peers. Students should expect homework of 90-120 minutes per week.

What results can I expect from Bretton Woods Tutoring?

Parents can expect their child to have a significant increase in their SAT score by the end of the course. This ensures your child has a strong chance of getting into a school you and them would be pleased with.

Where do you offer in-person services?

We offer in person tutoring services across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas. We also offer in person services in Dubai and New York City. If you do not live in these areas, or want to work with a tutor located in a different area, you can book a session through zoom.

How much does the course cost?

The 10 week sessions in reading and math each cost $35 per hour (2 hours per week). Over the full session, this totals to $700 per SAT subject.

How do I know if my child is learning?

You’ll recognize the effectiveness of Bretton Woods Prep through observable changes: improved logic in solving complicated reading and math problems, a shift in approaching academic problems, heightened confidence, and progress toward your child’s goals. Additionally, consistent homework and practice ensures your child will have the techniques and lessons we teach them upon their SAT examination.
